Pitti at the Tower!

Between January 7^th and January 10^th 2014, Florence will be – once again – the world’s capital of men’s fashion!

The famous and greatly expected kermesse, with this 85^th edition, gets many visitors coming from all over the world: international buyers, journalists and bloggers, reporting with enthusiasm every year this great fashion event.

In this edition, we will find some news going on: the fighting spirit of the new theme “Rock me Pitti”, more than 70 women’s collections and more than 1000 prestigious brands on display at the Fortezza Da Basso.

Among all the most important guests, we will see the dutch brand G-Star with its new denim line, Todd Snyder with his world premiere of the collaboration with Champion, and finally Roy Rodger’s, that will have a special area right in the middle of the Central Pavilion. Everything  surrounded by the usual contemporary arts exhibitions and many other events inside the Fortezza.

The absolute guest star, however, will be Diesel Black Gold, with an outstanding world premiere: the new collection designed by Andreas Melbostad.

Christmas getting closer...

Christmas is getting closer, and you feel like you're breathing a special atmosphere here at Torre Guelfa!

We want to say hello to everyone staying with us and share some Christmas pictures with all our nice guests who are staying home right now.

There are some great Christmas markets going on in town, and the best one is probably the Santa Croce market, with german and austrian tyipical products.

This is quite interesting, especially for our american friends, because inside the church of Santa Croce there is something which inspired the most famous symbol of New York and the United States: the Statue of Liberty!

As you enter Santa Croce church, you will immediately see this sculpture: The Statue of Liberty of Poetry, made by Pio Fedi to honor the memory of Giovanni Battista Niccolini. Many people think this may have been the true inspiration for the Statue of Liberty, now a symbol of America and freedom, well known in the whole world.

We bet no one would have ever thought to find this into one of the most famous churches of Florence, in Italy!
